Default 2007 400ss top speed

I have taken a step from a go fast to a 2007 400ss with twin 525's and bravo 3x twin prop drives. The top speed is 64.2 mph/gps. Would there be any top speed gains with nose cones?

Not very likely. Would only expect to see changes over 80 mph with addition of nosecones.

Agreed. It wouldn't make a difference on it until 80-85+ MPH

64.2 is running good. My brother has a 400SS with 500s and it rund high 50s, so you are doing great.

I am at 55 MPH with my 37ss with 496s.

52.8 on the GPS is the best I've seen with mine..... '99 w/ twin 502's

Love the boat......

You are right about the speed limit for a Bravo 3. There is just too much stuff in the water for them to go much faster, and nose cones would do nothing with all those props in the water.

What kind of wake does it put out at top speed? That's faster than 90% of the boats on the water I'd think. I expect you'll keep us posted when you throw superchargers on there, change the drives, and get it into the 70s...

Several years ago the guy that owns Pro Charger bought a 400SS and decided to use it as a test bed for Procharger application. They installed the system, ran the boat w/B3 and then put B-1X drives on it. With 415hp/502`s procharged and B-1x drives it ran I believe, 66mph on radar. But the change to B-1x drives made take off very bad, even with tabs full down it took forever to get on plane.
