Default '02 353 battery switch ?

OK, I'm a Perko switch guy, yes, no, both. Pretty simple. Now the '02 353 has 3 switches, understand port, starboard , on and off, what's the function of the red switch in the middle? Part two of this question is on the dash I have a switch that reads port on top, stbd on the bottom and volt in the middle. What does this control?

the middle switch parallels the batts for an "emergency start" of the other side. do not leave the switch in the combined position. Use it for an emergency start, and then return to off position.

the switch on the dash reads volts port or starboard on one guage.

did you get an owners pack with the boat?

thanks Rip,

I got the big red book with the boat, just no time to read it, given the boat currently has two starting batteries, after some stereo use knowing about the parralel switch could come in handy.
