Dropping the price is always painful but when looking for boats I have to admit I usually click on the least expensive boats first :) There is a 97 312 near me for sale in the high 30s with close to 1000 hours. While the boat may be tired I would still ask about it out of curiosity and price if I was in the market.

If you haven't done so already, set up a photobucket account (or other photo hosting services) with detailed high quality pictures. I took pictures of everything including the instruments at different speeds/RPMs. It's interesting what some people notice and what is important to them (clean bilge, shiney gelcoat, etc. etc.)

I sold my boat through boattraderonline...after the person contacted me by email I sent them to the photobucket site. Pictures help greatly with long distance sales and selling the boat to a national market increases your chances of selling the boat.

You might also write up a spec sheet detailing options and maintenance done to the boat. Not everyone wants this amount of detail but if you have it available it help assure buyers that you have a well maintained boat with nothing to hide. I also made a copy of a recent survey available. Have this info available electronically also saves you time so that you don't have answer the same questions over and over. The forumula website has copies of the old brochures to help you create a list of standard and optional features on your boat.

You might also consider listing the boat on EBAY. There are some kooks on EBAY but it will get your boat more exposure...and it only takes one buyer. :)

Good luck with the sale.
