88 357 SR1 reviews
I have a friend who is looking at a 88 357 SR1. An issues with these boats outside the $$ to run them? What is it worth?
Tanks. |
its worth what ever you will pay for it .... There a bunch of variables to effect the Value ...
issues .... TRS drives ... does he want insurance ? Some companies wont insure boats over 15 years old ...m |
Brick Chithouse if maintained well and worth $30's to 50's depending on condition. If worn out I wouldn't take it if you paid me to haul it away!!!
|
extremely well built and proven to last a long time / wave crusher with lots of space. and what those guys said!!
|
88 should have bravos
depends on motors slow iwth 454 mags faster with 420's or other high perf options ( kaama package, etc) pretty timeless if lighter colors price range is large as said above 30k to 50k Ramb |
I had one with Kamma's, Loved it. Lots of boat for the money as long as it has a clean bill of health. They turn alot of heads.

Torch Lake?
Rambunctious - do you frequent the Carribean blue waters of Torch lake? I've been there since 2000 and have not missed the other lakes one bit!
|
we have gone there a few times. not sure if we will make it this year. lake michigan is only 1/2 hr away from my home so not sure if I will tug all 12,100 bls of the 336 to Torch
BUT it is aweseme Josh ( perfect mix) is a local |
pulled my 419 280miles to get there. and I am going back this summer.

Big heavy boat, I have an 88 I live on it in the summer three days a week tons of room. Bravos made a large improvment. I work on boats and this thing is over built. But that comes with a cost...it weighs alot. Great in three footers, you can sip champagne 2 footers. I love mine and can't see spending 5 times the money to shed 3000 lbs. and go 15 mph faster.

Take a look at my 292 in the classifieds. I have bought a 42 Sonic so the Formula must be sold. It has Bravo's/365 HP Magnums with Stainless Marine. Know for a fact it is not as thirsty as the TRS boats (buddy of mine has a 311 with 420s/TRS, Holley carbs that likes fuel).
Mine has quadrajet carbs so very reasonable on gas at cruise as you are still in the primaries. |
