Default 353 or 382?

Hey guys, I am considering moving back to Formula. I am looking at 353's and 382's. I like the agility of the 353 but the amenaties of the 382 are attractive. Anyone own both boats that can give me some pros and cons? I have owned a 20', 302, 311Kaama, and 357Kamma. I currently own a 38PQ(which is F/S) I love it but everyone in my marina has a PQ now. Time to make a change. Lots of overnights on the boat so I need a decent cabin. Thanks for the input.

After having a 382, or in your case a 38 Powerquest, the 353 will seem very small to you. If you are not trailering, I would go with the 382.

I keep my boat on a trailer. The marina I hang out at is the one with all the PQ's. No problem with a 38 or a 35 as far as trailering. Is the ride quality that much better in the 382? I have spoke to a few guys that said they like the balance of the 353 better. Both are sweet boats. Red Dog, you are running Sterling Power aren't you? Sweet 382 BTW.

Kevin, are you looking to get out of the 382, or you just itching to make a deal with Nelems on a new one?

Maybe this is a decent time for me to hijack and ask how the 382, 353 and 311SR1 cockpits compare? As much as I love the engine room space when I have to get in there, I find myself wishing there was more room between the bench and the bucket seats. My knee has found that grab handle a few too many times...

Thanks. Engines were originally done by Sterling, but lets say there were few major problems recently that I have an issue with. I took them to someone else for refresh over the winter and am satisfied so far.

382 is a bit more of a job to tow than my 311 was. Needed to modify my storage building to fit the 382 also. But wouldn't give up the ride, room, and amenities of the 382 now.

Lot of room in front of the engines.
