292 prices

What should i expect for a 292 with blaze graphics, with 6.2s in it. Don't really know of any other options on the boat, and oh, it is a new 07.

Splitdecision271 08-27-2007 11:48 AM

It really depends on the options the boat has. The blaze graphics are a definate option, I might be wrong but I don't think the 292's had the blaze graphics as an option in 07, so your probably gonna see a price higher then normal because that's like a "special/custom option". Bimini top, captains call, fresh water flush, macerator/Y-valve, SmartCraft, trim indicators, docking lights, are all options that will increase the overall price of the boat depending on which one's it has. I'm quessing but being a brand new leftover with full 5 year warranty probably 148-150K, give or take a few grand. MagicFloat would be a better resource then I am. Talk to him, many OSO members go through him.

rubadub 08-27-2007 01:05 PM

I agree - give Robert at Nelem's Marine a call (That's Magic's place) I spoke with him several weeks ago about the very same thing. He will shoot 100% straight with you.

The boat is an 07, 292, and definatly has the Blase graffics. I beleive just the graffics are a 15000.00 dollar option.

fastmcars 08-29-2007 10:55 PM

I think you are looking at the one at Bald Knob. I bought a Blaze 292 at the boat show in Feb and keep it in dry stack at Bald Knob. I traded in a 2005 292 that i had bought in 2006 so it's hard to tell what I paid with trade in. I believe that the boat has the same options as mine, making for a +180,000 boat. Just figure 20-25% off. Talk to Tim Janisch.

FRMULTR 08-31-2007 07:06 AM

What did your 05 look like? They have a used 05 in stock, with low hours. Did you have problems with the 05, or did you just have to have those new graphics? Also I have talked to Tim a few times already, I think he's tired of me not pulling the trigger on a new boat., but its a big decision. Now that you've had two 292's, whats your opinion. When the Chain opens I'll look for you, I'm driving a 25 Eliminator Daytona.

FRMULTR 09-04-2007 06:56 AM

fastmcars, was it you at the North Point launch ramp that had some bad luck?. A friend of mine was there with his older Formula, and said he talked to you. It sucks when your ready to have a great day boating and that kind of crap happens.

I bought a 2002 292 from Bald Knob 2 years ago. I have talked with Tim a few times as well as Brigg. We bought ours from Mark Biasco when he was there. That guy was an ass. Had a few minor problems and had to keep calling and calling to get them taken care of. I think this has something to do with why he is no longer there.

Any way, our 292 had approx 280hrs on it when we bought it and I have 468 on it now. Only problems I have had were one sea pump was scored and kept trashing impellers and the fuel pick up tubes in the tank broke. Formula has awsome warranty and George and jaime in service are good peeps as well as mechanic Mike.

Our boat still runs like a raped ape every weekend. We will probably see you guys on the chain if it ever opens back up.
Ours has the red, blue and black stripe world champion grafics

Yeah, it seems to me that the dealers up by me must all be independantly wealthy. I can't get Bald Knob to call me back on boats I've looked at there, and I can't get Mark Biasco from Munson to call me back on a used 292 they have either. When I initially talked to Mark, he told me he left Bald Knob because their service dept. sucked. I'll be lookin for ya on the chain.

RaggedEdge 09-05-2007 07:41 AM

If you are looking for a clean used 292, a friend has one for sale now. I believe it is a 2003, has the 377 Scorpions with around 120 hrs, on an Eagle trailer. Fresh water only, lift kept in season and inside storage off season. Very fussy owner and the boat is in exelent condition. If this might be of interest let me know and I can get more specific info for you. Boat is in northern New York.

kjo43 09-05-2007 10:53 AM

Is this the boat from Morristown? Saw that one for sale in at a used car dealership just outside of Ogdensburg on a blue eagle trailer.

Yes, not owned by the car dealer though. Owner has a summer place in Morristown and lives in Canton, NY.

kjo43 09-05-2007 01:08 PM

familar with the house, I've seen the boat on the lift when passing by on the river. thought it was a 2002 or 2003 but I didn't know it had scorpions...great paint scheme on that boat. Would love to know the asking $ if you talk to him, prob beyond my reach this year though.

Don't believe everything Mark tells ya. He seems to be the typical used car sales guy. He will tell you what you want to hear to get you to sign on the dotted line and when it comes time for him to step up and deliver, he is no where to be found.
I would say the owners of Bald Knob were tired of the complaints, he would expect everyone else to clean up the mess he made.
Just my opinion though

Yes that was me. Fortunately, I was coming out when the trailer tire fell off. The wheel must have been moving around and sheared off one of the wheel studs, the other five studs were all erroded but had the wheel nuts still on. It appears that the trailer wheel studs may be too long for the acorn nut. They bottom out, causing not enough torque on the wheel (the stud sticks out 1.24" and the accorn nuts are only 1.4" with a blind tap that probably doesn't go down to the bottom). The wheel isn't hub centric, so it was moving all around. Of course, It would have helped if I had my spare I ordered 4 months ago! I called Tim at Bald Knob and told him to get me a wheel and rim, and I didn't care where he got it from. I will say that he came through. So after I replaced the studs, and my friends came back from Bald Knob with the spare, I was out of there 5 hours later! That was a lot of fun.
I called Eagle trailer today, but they did have any thoughts on my problems. I think I'm on my own to rebuild the trailer properly!

It is a nice looking boat, and loaded with options. I believe he is mid 80's on the Eagle trailer. The Scorpions are a very pricey option but make a real difference in performance. If you're interested let me know and I can verify the options and price for you.

TheKoz96 09-07-2007 11:58 AM

That 292 thats in the showroom List onit was 185,000.

Boomer 880 09-07-2007 04:09 PM

The Chain is officially open as well as the upper river.

Mark B. is a tool, no matter where he is.

Bald Knob never returns calls (and usually never has anyone in the showroom). Well, that was my experience over the last year.

Give MagicFloat a call if you are not getting what you need.

We will be on the Chain this weekend in our 260 BR... give us a wave!

Griz 09-07-2007 04:43 PM

Why did Merc quit making the Scorpions? Makes no sense.

Magicfloat 09-07-2007 05:44 PM

Way too high price resulted in low sales. They were hand built by Merc Racing, great engines, but while blue paint can make big blocks desirable at a high price,it did not trickle down to blue painted small blocks. I hated to see them go,but the price difference over the 6.2 was crazy.

debcod2 09-07-2007 08:55 PM

We will finally be hitting the chain again as well on Saturday.

FRMULTR 09-10-2007 07:02 AM

Not me, I had to go to da U.P. for a football game. Bye week this week, hopefully it will be nice out again, so I can burn some 110 out of the Eliminator.

selpel 09-10-2007 10:13 AM

We have a leftover 05 292 Fas-tech w/6.2 ,Hyd. steering,Corsa captains call,Kenwood 10 pack cd w/amp, head w/dockside pump out, bow docking lights and the color is Midnight Beach Silver #3. If this will work give me a call,573-964-3411.

FRMULTR 09-10-2007 10:55 AM

Any pictures of this graphic? I could be interested depending on what it looks like, and price, of course. I bought my Eliminator in the Ozarks, so why not keep the trend going.
