292 speed isssue!!
Hey everyone!!
I have a new 06' 292w/ 6.2's in it and is very hard to hit even 68mph on it in calm water @ 5000-52000rpm!!!! I must be doing something wrong. 66mph is easy to get to but after that I keep adjusting the tabs and drives so that the boat's at least out of the water, somewhat level then can get high 60's?? I hear some guys running stock 6.2's at about 74mph and up!! Any suggestions would help!!

I've seen 72 GPS on my 2003 after removing my Silent Thunder box, up from 70.5. Piloting solo, 1-2 foot chop, sea level, 1/2 tank of 92 octane gas.
btw, I see top speed at a little less than full trim.

292 (mine at least) like to run at neutral trim with out a lot of tab.70-71 tops yours might pick up 1or2 after the motors loosen up a bit.Be careful about over trimming a twin step mine gets very unstable if I do that at speed and stepped hulls are designed to run at neutral trim which is the imaginary line from the first step to the transom drive should be 90 degres to that. Also they need a little chop to get that extra mile an hour or two a tailwind helps too
