First Run ....Not So Good
Well i took the 311 out and it lasted about 20 minutes. Powered her up ran down about 1/4 mile everything was ok. Turned around powered her up and about 6 seconds later BOOM port motor let go. The boat felt good and it tracked well but absolutely no speedat all. it only ran 59.3@ 5000 before the BOOM. I am going to have both motors pulled to see what the he** went wrong The rooster was cool though

if those were 330, you should only run about 4600 max
power band is 4200-4600
5000 is high for cast crank assembly
could the props have been still aerating?
did the engine let go, or something n the driveline ( like is there oil in the bilge?)
we need more data
sorry your day was't successful
I'll prolly call you

Not to revel in the misery, but let us know more detail.
I think they put big power in front of those drives, so they should handle the revs; do they have transmissions? Maybe "just" a trans...

The original motors were replaced with these motors in 1997. as far as i could tell with the numbers of the survey and buy looking at the carbs which have the 330 tag on them. As far as the drives the Kaama brochure says the trannys should handle at least 500 hp after that there was no warranty issued by twin disc. What happened is the the motor started losing rpm and started clattering really bad so i shut it down. The oil pressure was 30 and the temp was 170 when the noises started. it sill will turn over slowly and makes a bunch noise doing it. I am going to check the oil for water and pull a valve cover to see if i can determine anything there.

So they're 330s? Pull the valve covers and see what pieces are no longer where they're supposed to be
Hopefully just rocker arm broken or loose. If you see broken springs, that could be worse.
Fingers crossed for ya'...
