The deal is done

I finally did the deal on a new 07 292. I didn't get to do my water test because of the beautiful northern Illinois weather yesterday, but hopfully will get to it this week. There were alot of end of the year incentives to buy the boat now, so I'm glad I waited. The only draw back is that, after my test drive I won't see it till spring. Oh well, thats just more time to build my pile of accessories.:party-smiley-020:

4mulafastech 10-15-2007 12:25 PM

Congratulations!:ernaehrung004: What options does it have? I assume it is the red one in your avitar, right? Looks great!

FRMULTR 10-15-2007 12:49 PM

Thanks, and yes it is the boat in my avatar. Option wise other than the upgraded graphics, its got the mechanical indicators, the upgraded stereo with ipod connection, amp, and subwoofer, and the topper is the transom shower. Oh yeah, 6.2's also. The only thing I need to figure out now is what color trailer to put under it, red? black? white?:boat:

FRMULTR 10-15-2007 12:52 PM

4mula, who or where did you get your new 08 steering wheel from, and what did you pay if you don't mind me asking? That is a must have on my list.

axapowell 10-15-2007 01:43 PM

I got the red one from Fred at Trick Marine $399.00

Nice ride BTW...Enjoy!

Dave

FRMULTR 10-15-2007 01:47 PM

Thanks, I'll check it out at Trick Marine.

Back4More 10-15-2007 02:10 PM

I was at Blad Knob on Saturday helping a friend pull his 260SS for the season and saw them detailing your 292...looks great, I think a black trailer would look the best.
Good luck with it.

88242LS 10-15-2007 03:19 PM

Nice ride I love the graphics.

Phazar454Mag 10-15-2007 04:28 PM

Congratulations. It sure is a great boat and very nice graphics :) Hope it will give you great boating pleasure.

4mulafastech 10-15-2007 07:08 PM

LIMNATR, regarding the wheel, same as axapowell, got it at Trick. Nice upgrade and well worth the $$.

You can probably go with any one of those trailer colors and it would look good! I went all white with a little purple and yellow accents. White won't show the dirt as much as a dark color, but as Back4More said, black would probably look best...

I did the same thing you did! Bought the boat late October and was only able to do a shake down run before putting it up for the winter. Made for a long winter! Enjoy your 292!:cool-smiley-011:

FRMULTR 10-15-2007 08:11 PM

Thanks to all for all the well wishes!!:ernaehrung004:

debcod2 10-15-2007 09:07 PM

Congrats and welcome to the club:D

jeff32 10-15-2007 10:27 PM

have fun!

masi242 10-16-2007 02:32 PM

Congrats, nice ride. I would go with a white trailer my.02.

fastmcars 10-16-2007 06:36 PM

Don't get white. I have a white trailer, and it would look very strange around Johnsburg with the identical boat and trailer. Congrats on the deal!

I have to change my vote to red after seeing this one...
A triple eagle with the white decals would be the cats a s s.

Ditto .

FRMULTR 10-17-2007 06:52 AM

Its down to red or black. I was leaning towards black, now you guys have me going back in the other direction. Decisions, decisions. :D

Boomer 880 10-17-2007 07:00 AM

Congrats on the boat!

Heading down to the factory on Friday (10/19). Let me know if you need anything as we are just around the corner from you.

Enjoy!

FRMULTR 10-17-2007 07:11 AM

Thanks for the congrats, and thanks for the offer. Maybe you could smooth talk them into giving you a red Isotta steering wheel for me. Have a safe trip. :D

I could wear a big coat and 'find' one:D

Have fun.

FRMULTR 10-17-2007 03:49 PM

I like your" what ever it takes " attitude. :D

debcod2 10-17-2007 05:02 PM

Hey FRMULTR,
Are you getting a triple or tandem axle trailer?
I tried a tandem and did not like the way it pulled.
Triple axle is the way to go for sure.
And go with red

FRMULTR 10-17-2007 05:30 PM

Tandem, thats all i see under them at the "Knob". I'll have to ask them about a triple.

Boomer 880 10-17-2007 07:40 PM

What brand of trailer are you getting? Options?

We have a Prestige under our Formula and love it. Great trailer and outstanding customer service.

FRMULTR 10-18-2007 06:38 AM

I'm getting a Phoenix trailer. I was originally getting a Prestige. I guess Phoenix really stepped up to the plate with extended warrantees, such as 10 years on the led lights and 5 years on the axles. Both seem to have similar construction. Tim, at the Knob, said they have had some issues with the Prestige's, but didn't go into details. Who knows?, I guess I'll find out when I get it .

hp500efi 10-18-2007 07:40 AM

love the looks of the boat. Great paint scheme

FRMULTR 10-18-2007 09:37 AM

Thanks, hp500efi. :D

Boomer 880 10-18-2007 12:10 PM

Looks like you can get some boating in this weekend!!! The season is not over until we say it's over:p

FRMULTR 10-18-2007 12:57 PM

That sounds great, except I've got to drive to da u.p. for my sons football game, this weekend. Maybe I can sneek in my test run on Sunday afternoon.

88formula223 10-19-2007 09:44 AM

nice ride!! I vote for black

fastmcars 10-20-2007 07:36 PM

Just my opinion. I have owned many, many trailers. I would go with the 2 axle trailer. Your boat only weighs 7000-8000 lbs. With 2-6000 lbs axles, it still gives you 2000 lbs free weight. Also, when traveling down the road, you aren't scrubbing all those tires. Thinking down the road, you will only have to replace 4 tires instead of 6. I see guys always over powering, too large of trailer, too big of everything, and not being able to use these things. Just my opinion!!!!!

Back4More 10-21-2007 05:39 AM

Was a nice day Saturday.... Should be a better one Sunday.

FRMULTR 10-22-2007 06:59 AM

Yeah, beautiful day yesterday, but couldn't get a hold of my salesman, ( who always available by cell phone) to set up a ride. Seems that he wasn't at work and his cell phone mail box was full. So much for service after the sale.:(

FRMULTR 10-30-2007 07:02 AM

Final decision was made, trailer will be black, with red striping. I was a little concerned about the red on the trailer matching the red on the boat, (ok, it was really my wifes concern) and black goes with everything.

I don't know... I love my tri-axle! I was towing this weekend bringing the boat home to winterize and it reminded me again just how nice it tows. Straight and true with absolutely no sway at any speed (75mph is common...). This is by far the best towing rig I have ever had. Of course, JMHO!!:cool-smiley-011:

FRMULTR, black will look great under your 292! We went through the same concern regarding color matching the pin striping. We worked with Prestige and they sent samples to pick through.

Let me guess, Tim is your sales guy!?!?! He seems to come and go as he please.

We stopped in two weeks ago (during our last ride of the season) with my brother and sister-inlaw who are boat shopping. We climbed over the boats for at least 45-minutes and no one came around to offer assistance.

The black trailer will look great under your boat.
