SHAKEDOWN RUN TODAY!!!
Not too bad:

1. Had to re-splice the unused Merc trim sensor wires back together to get the trim switches to work correctly. (5 minutes)
2. Genny did not feed power to the 110 volt panel. (RAddictions fat thumbs had tripped the output breaker on the genny.)
3. The mess you see in the center picture was caused by a crack in the 45 degree elbow you see in the right picture. When I went to check the oil pressure sensor for tightness, it snapped right off! (Bought the new fitting today, will install it tomorrow.)
4. Port sea strainer has a small leak around the lid o-ring. Will investigate tomorrow.
5. Slight "tick" from right bank of starboard engine. I don't think that I put any silicone on the header where it slides into the tailpipe.
6. Have to check ignition timing tomorrow before any full-throttle runs.

Overall: :D - It was great to be back on the water! The new paint looks a LOT more consistent and silvery than before, too!

Well, How did Sunday go?

(3) $1.29 brass elbow fixed the oil leak, but it took some work to get everything clean again.
(4) Sea strainer leak could be a bit of a chore. It may have distorted the rim when we cut and re-welded the fittings. I'm going to wind up having to pull them out and work on them.
(6) My 1972 Penske timing light didn't work, so I'll probably have the marina check the ignition timing.

Lots of "Lost Signal" dropouts from the chartplotter, but there is apparently some GPS system testing going on. At one point, it showed us going up I-95 at 768 mph. Looked to me like we were at anchor, but who am I to contradict a GPS reading? :p

Hmmmm - I wonder if that speed will appear on in the chartplotters memory as "Maximum Speed"? That would freak a few people out.....

We've made several nice trips now with no significant issues, although we're still working our way through a few "tick list" items. Garmin replaced my GPS antenna at no charge, so we're good on that front now. By the way - the remote control you see to the left of the steering wheel is for the Garmin 4212 chartplotter. No more leaning forward to try and hit the correct button while bounding across the water! :)

I did find some time to get night-time photos of the engine bay, and to add some Ba-Ling to the dash, by getting rid of the blue gauge bezels for platinum ones and installing the (now-compulsory) eye-talian steering wheel.

(I think RAddiction may have some running shots somewhere...)
