Hi tpenfield yes so it is, the brochures tells this difference.
And for sure they will not let the wrong lbs be printed
for 4 years and then correct it for 91and 92. But strange
that it is a difference the rest of the spefics are the same.

In the Formula brochures (see their web site), it lists the dry weight of the 242 at 4150 lbs for the 1987, 88, 89, 90 models. The 1991 and 1992 models are listed at a dry weight of 4750 lbs (+600 lbs).
No specific reason stated, probably added some material to the layup.

Hello, I'm a new member, and am curious about the most powerful engine one has ever put into a 242 LS? I have seen some posts with 540's with 535HP, but has anyone ever put in say a 588 with 700HP or a blown 588 with say 900/1000HP? If so, what other mods have been done to the boat (Drives and srivetrain)..
Has anyone run Arnesons on a 242 LS? ASD6 or ASD8...?

MASI, thanks. I own a boat, that means it costs $$$. As far as more than 650 HP, why not? Maybe I already have a motor like I mentioned above.... New to this forum does not mean dumb... Just trying to get answers from anyone who has ACTUALLY done something like this, not someone who wishes to do so.

Blue, hope you didn`t take it the wrong way,I do believe this hull can handle the HP you just need a drive that can handle the HP. I think a Konrad drive would be great for this or upgrading to an xrbravo.

MASI,
I did take it as you were tring to get snotty with me. If you were not, then i apologize. Fair's fair.
I am not worried about the drive. The Konrad needs a new hole, so it could be an XR, or IMCO. However, Arneson makes a Bravo Conversion that would be perfect, so I might do that. (That's why I asked about the ASD6/8's.) And yes, I do have a 588 in the garage waiting to go into my 242LS.
