6.2 mods

Hey Koz,
Alot of threads on this in the Formula and general tech sections, suggest doing a search....basically, you can upgrade exhaust (modest gains), supercharge the stock engines (bigger gains but could shorten the stock 6.2 engine life considerably if you crank up the boost), or pull the motors and set aside, replacing with purpose-built small blocks. (better resale value if you re-install the stockers vs. modified engines)
For me, I've tabled the decision until next year (at least)...seems like by the time I got to the HP levels I want for my 292, say 450-500, I'll be in for at least $12500 per side, and I may be better off putting that $25k + my 292 towards a larger boat with big blocks...especially if I grenade my stock Bravo I's with the power increase.
If you decide to modify, please keep all us 6.2s owners updated - Really curious to see someone go full-out with these engines in a mid-size hull!

Stock Bravo's should have no problem holding up to 450 to 500 hp as long as you are careful on your exit out and re-entry into the water. I ran 650 hp through my stock Bravo for seven years , with no problems.

Lots of people have been ok running 500HP thru Bravo One's, others on the forum have stories or going thru B1's in a hurry with that kind of power.
Koz, good luck whichever route you go! I'll be looking for updates...

I don't remember his name, but the boat is definatly black, yellow, gray, and white. He tows it with an 07 black GMC. I don't know if you've been in the showroom lately, but its the same design as that one. It would be nice if Formula would come out with something between the 29 and the 35.

Yea thats John with the yellow and black one being towed with the GMC...
Is this true I hear that Formula is coming back out with the 312????
Youd think that Formula would think people would want to do work to the 6.2's and make more products for it. Everywhere you go you see thing for the 496's....
Well the boat show is next weekend maybe Ill see something better than a Formula...
