My friends 2002 with 500EFI's and Stelling ext boxes runs 82-84. Without boxes 353's with 500's run 80-81.

Buddy has a 98 with 509's and prochargers, IMCO boxes and Extreme 2" shorty drives, best so far of 97 on gps.

353 seems to be best bang for the buck as far as fas-techs go.

I'd love to see a new 353 without all the bling. Fiberglass fairing , Gaffrig Monsters , billet , etc. That is a great design.

Midwest is great.. I remember on year in the 70's. I was water skiing in Mid. January due to a heat wave. 75deg air temp. 33Deg Lake Michigan temp. :D:D My knees and ankels matched my boat, they were both PURPLE. (dark purple)

And thanks for the info. I am looking at a 353 with 575's and a 353 with 500's. (and Hustlers, AT's etc. the jury is still deleborating with the selection):angry-smiley-038:

What is your friend asking price on this?

353 (2007) with twin 600 SCI and ITS
and 2 inch shorties (IMCO)

93,3 MPH

There was a 382 Fas3Tech in Speedboat Magazine with twin 575 `s tested versus a 382 with twin 600 `s

Top Speed was almost the same , only fuel consumption of the 600`s was much better in Midrange RPM

So a 353 with twin 575`s and a good setup ( boxes or ITS with shorties) should reach a similar speed

I'm real not sure but I think his asking price was in the 125k range. Don't quote me on it though. If you're at all interested, just give him a call or shoot him an email. The boat is in excellent condition.

Magicfloat 12-12-2007 07:45 PM

We had a 94.8 on our first 600 boat with Stellings boxes. There was a photo of the Smartcrart display here a couple years ago but I don't know how to find it.

Best speed og 535

Hi!

How fast will a 533 go with 2 x 565 hp engines (Raylar upgraded 496 HO's) with and without stelling boxes?

What about 2 inch shorties?

Sorry for all these questions. I am a outboard guy you see, and there we have adjustable poswerlifts.

Cheeers and thanks!

Toffen G :D

we had good expirience with the Raylar Kits
so a 353 with twin 565 Raylars and stock drives should run in the mid 8o `s , but you should use the Maximus props

Hi!

Thanks. Great.

If I add stelling boxes, would I gain 2-3 mph?

Hei Monaco!

i høst.

NO KIDDING!!!! :D That was pretty cool seeing a couple guys carry on a conversation and having NO IDEA what they were talking about. Makes you realize the U.S. isn't the center of the universe!!!!

TeamSaris 01-14-2008 08:17 PM

Been 96 in one with 600s. Extremely low on gas, tweaked props and an world champion throttleman.

Phazar, Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.....the slowest i have been able to go is 68mph...flat salt water....full fuel...5 fat bastards on board 95 degrees and humid as hell .I will say that the engines had less than 50 hrs at the time and I was still learning the boat. On an avg day...80 degrees 1-2 foot chop..1/2 fuel 3 persons, 72-74 is a solid do-able top speed.
The cold dry November day made a HUGE difference in performance, and top speed.....Eric

353 w/ 496's; fastest the boat's been is around 80ish.
Then the wife said to slow it down, as we were trailering on the interstate highway at the time! :D

here's the skinny on HO power, and it's right on, if not a little conservative in ideal speed conditions.

note the weather, flat water, and 115 gals fuel.

What happened to the Senators claimed dry wgt of 9500 lbs.??? This shows 8575, actually I think the Formula site shows at 9500 as well. He's always claimed he was way heavier than my last Fountain. The new Fountain is heavier than the Formula 353???

The 12-16" chop is not exactly flat sticky water, I would consider it close to ideal for good numbers for something in the 35' range. Not bustin here, just an observation and an opinion.

So what is the real deal on the weight???
