new 525s was tested at 79mph by PB i believe. ours with 600s runs 85

We have a 2000 382 Fastech with 525's and about 160hrs. The boat will run about 76-78 Consistantly.

That is about right based on the ones we sold in the past. The new 525 EFI's are stronger than the older 525SC's

what'as about right? my 70 mph I was told or mahopac marine's 76-78 ?

what year were the 525 EFI made from?

Yours is running great then. I ran in the 382 factory boat with 600s at the Miami show in 06. It tickled 79 on GPS with 3 guys. I don't remember the fuel, but the conditions were excellent.

85 with 1/4 fuel and 2 guys. It was actually on a freshwater lake. Even with full fuel and 6 or so people we have seen low 80s. Its a fun boat and we have enjoyed it but we are ready for somthing with more speed to keep up with the bigger boats

With well-tuned stock 525 SC's and labbed props, this rig will get you 76 mph and no more. Have a friend with identically set-up '98.

I thought '98 was the first year for Fastech hulls ...?
