Gonna get to it this weekend if time allows. Gotta tear it apart yet and check out the insides. :D Hope to start building it the week I get back. Should only take 3 days to complete the machine and clean everything for assembly....Then onto the Dyno! You should have it by the 23rd of April...Right before I go to Mexico! Dave PS: My Heavy Metal should be here tomorrow!! |
If anyone can believe it I caught Axa in his office yesterday, should have got pictures......good luck in Jersey, Oneidas gettin clear, should test out there, got the boathouse and waterfront to break up the monotony.....:D

Dave If splashing one you don't own in salt water in a different state counts then I've already won, middle of November down in Salem Mass. And before you start, our season was spent. My boat was sold and tucked away in VT., yours had no engines and was taking it's winter nap in a barn at Rips, everyone was all done. I started this season real early, and have spent 2-3 weekends every month "on the boat" since. :D |

Dave PS: My Heavy Metal should be here tomorrow!! Well both of mine have been "on the dyno". A real state of the art one at that, dynoed by those "Guys" of yours at Merc Racing. Nothing but the Pros for my babies. "Heavy Metal", this is probably going to turn out like Hillary's barage of sniper fire in Iraq. Where's the fox hole!!!!!!!! "Mexico", been there done that, the tab for the whole week was on a supplier I did business with, nothing like a freebie. Just don't drink the water! |

There's that Ragged philosophy again! Ran the boat in November, so first in? Let’s push the clock to 2008 and start over: You were FIRST out when you sold your old boat, took a 2 month break then went for a ride in the new one ONCE in November and if I’m not mistaken, you had no time or money in it at that point. So theoretically you really were just going for a boat ride in a boat that you might be purchasing. You may have been last out, but only by a few days. When was it that you test drove? Remember, I was in Destin…On a boat in November! So, let’s make a prediction on 2008…Who will be first to splash their PLEASURE boat in FRESH water for a ride or for the season? Let’s be clear now if this is to be a competition. I want to make sure I understand the rules before I decide to participate! Dave |

472.5 HP or 577.5HP? You can always get a hold of the "Guy" with the propshaft dyno and find out for sure. I can give you Jim Goerlitz's number at Merc Racing, you can call and ask for the results of your "babies", but I know for a fact that they don't Kiss and Tell! Dave |

Rules will be real simple here; 1) "Their Pleasure boat" shall be defined as being one owned by the entrant/participant. 2) "In" shall be defined as for a ride, the day, or the season, as the case may be. But must be off the trailer and run for some time and distance under it's own power. ...........................Simple enough?, In or out?.......................... In any case, I fully plan to start testing this new one as soon as there is an open launch, and no floating icebergs. Salem vs Destin; you were in a boat Doug rented, maybe had a beer or dinner invested, but basically a free ride. I was on a test ride, had coffee and lunch for all into the deal, basicaly a free ride. However a couple days later I had a serious chunk of change going their way via wire transfer. Slight leg up ---> Ragged? Or call it a draw. :Whatever: On to spring 2008, rules above, In or Out? |

Dave My opinion of "Dyno HP" is the same now, though I assumedly now have dynoed engines, as it was when I had engines that were not. It's a number! A number that has never made any engine any more or less than it is, if you never knew what the number was. my boat runs X MPH, whether it does X MPH with 472.5 HP or with 577.5 HP, it still only goes X MPH. Not knowing will not make X slower, any more than knowing will make X faster, or vice versa. If I felt the need to talk to Jim I am pretty sure I could get his number thru HBW, but it would not change the X MPH my boat runs no mater what he might or might not tell me. It's just that "Ragged Philosophy" again! |
