Is that thing even running?
Mikey, we could hear you on the beach last Sunday all the way back to Mexico Pt! I even heard you idle it in...yeah you need mufflers or you better have deep pockets to pay the state! It did sound GREAT though...music to our ears! Suzie was chomping at the bit!
Hey, we're launching lakeside tomorrow and parking in the cut...zero wind.

Funny Hutchinson's Boathouse story about the turn-downs...... as we back into our slip for the weekend ( with thanks due to Ragged Edge ) some of the neighboring cruiser crowd comes to grab a line and help us in. Before I even get the engines turned off, they inquire why my boat is so politely quiet. I explained about the turn-downs and they continue to compliment how well they work.
Within a few minutes they then ask why I think the other "loud-boat" guys in the boathouse don't have any on their boats. I explain to them how macho it feels to have a loud and/or fast boat and those less secure with their 'man-hood' seem to keep 'em loud to compensate for possible shortcomings. They chuckled briefly, then shook their heads in agreement while surveying the loud-boat guys' rigs !

Real men have mufflers! Other men just don't understand what the silent choice switch is for...Oh and that bourbon and loud exhaust at 2am don't mix!!!

UUHHhhmmmm, one of the boats they were looking at was yours !
Keep sneaking out on our home water for these 'tuning sessions' without prior notice or written approval and I will have to keep taking shots at you.
Must confess I was on the Big Pond yesterday with Captain Morgan checking out a very nice new addition to the local fleet. It was not a F'a boat, it was a fast F'n boat.

I would surely give you a call if I thought I could give ample notice and have you tag along.
So I hear it's transformer yellow? Mine's magnetic red! Let the cannonball begin!
Plans to be at the River this year?

I can take the shots! I never know the time or dates of the testing because of scheduling and help!

Damn.....the Captain plays for the other team, gathering intel even during a favor to him !!
Our session Friday confirmed how ruined my senses are. 97 was a huge disappointment, felt slow.
May get to the river for the ABay Poker Run, won't be there in August as we will be in Buffalo for that great run. Each year a weekend spent with you all is a highlight of the season.
Is it possible the cruiser folk were complaining about the noise from the operators, not the boats ?

Observant! My indescretion was post the Quiet Time sign and the revision of rules applying to one's conduct in the Boathouse. Made my apologies to those that brought it up to me. End of story. Far as I know there was no need for trips to the office of the Commander for drawn out conversation, rule changes, or clamp down on the behavior of Boathouse occupants percieved to be out of line.
The Boathouse is much like any neighborhood, diverse opinions of right and wrong. People often find fault with something another does. As years have passed I have become a firm believer in the old verbage "Put your money where your mouth is"
The simple way to deal with the neighborhood, simply fix it to suit yourself. Write the check and deal with it!!!
Of course it does help to have a friend that is very handy with his toys. I'm happy now, as are the neighbors. Well, except for the one biotch that made it a point to tell me she was upset that the equiptment trailer was somewhat blocking the road.

20 minutes to get in the slip, not me!
Tweek and tune in the slip, not me! Nothing to tweek or tune in the slip with puterfied EFI engines.
You're either on the right side, or the other.
P.S. My choice is not only quieter than yours, but waaaaay quicker!
