Smile

Merc said it would be about the same, I guess it would be if I did not run it at 85~90 so much. It seems that it is still about 1 gal per mile. 80 GPH at 80 MPH. I get there quicker but do use more gas.....with the price of Diesel me thinks 91 is a bargain.......

Soot on the transom went away with the 3rd tank of fuel. Transom is cleaner that the 525's. I do have a small leak that is driving me nuts. It seems to be coming from under the transmission and only when running 50+, I'm thinking somthing in the raw water inside the gimble housing or transom assy ?????

Is this leak water or is it another fluid?

Its salt water for sure. Only at 50+ and it seems worse when its a little rough. I thought transom assy but it does not leak sitting, transom is out of the water at 50. I can see some staining under the inside transom assy ring. But we cannot see inside the transom assy where the transmission sits.??

Where does the raw water get picked up on this setup? Maybe this is a water pressure issue? Do you have pressure dump valves installed? I fixed a couple leaks and a overheat issue after installing the Merc pressure dump valves in the raw water lines.
