I thought there was a thread on this a few months ago, but a search turned up zilch.
Have any 271 fastech owners blueprinted the hull of your boat? If so was it worth while?

OG, Yes I have had a straight edge to the bottom. I do not have any problems with hook or rocker.
I swore I read a thread in this forum that sharpening the strakes & making sure the hull was perfect led a 271 owner to 2-3 extra mph. Thought he said it had been the most cost effective speed he'd picked up. Maybe I was dreaming?

YES I DID BLUE PRINT MY BOTTOM STRAKES AND THE TRANSOM BOTTOM ALL WITH NICE CLEAN EDGES PICK UP 3.7 mph, gps speed that was with stock o/drive, Capt Nabbers done my work in Moris IL , damm good glass man, strakes where done from the transom to the step and the front part of the step haul, was told that rounded lines are drag [lost speed ] also check the bottom in between the strakes if you see little dips thats more drag [a.k.a] suction. I think it was cost effective cheep speed about 2beans also corected my chine walking

Thanks Tony. I will have to look at my bottom to see how rounded the strakes are. Did they have to sand all the way through the gelcoat to get the stakes sharp enough? Also did they regelcoat the entire bottom from the step back?
