Now I know why she liked that 38 Lightning, wasn't the extra space and headroom, it was that second hatch.

Well my take here as follows;

$499.98 2 Lewmar low profile deck hatches,@ West Marine, 249.99 ea.
$000.00 Installation labor, self installed, one afternoon.
-----------
$499.98 Total outlay in cash for Fountain to equal Formula in this aspect.

Cost to make Formula equal Fountain in terms of performance aspect?

Move decimal two places to right ---> $49,998.00. You could verify with Axa, but I think I'm close. :p Though I believe he is still working on achieving this goal.

Ya' see what I'm sayin' ??? :cool-smiley-011:

I wouldn't going throwing those equal signs around just yet...

I've put alot of R&D (some well "documented") into that certian aspect of boat performance with this Formula, and I'm quite confident you're bringing up the rear in that race.... ;)

Though I would like to spectate with a few Blue Lights when you break out the sawzall in an attempt to better your "performance".

My Bad, almost forgot :eureka:

$499.98 Hatch upgrade.
$49.99 Mega ILD Foam V berth upgrade.
-----------
$549.97 Adjusted cost total.

.....................R&D costs assumed offset by chicks willing to kick in gas money.

Sold and finally delivered this weekend. Sad to see it go but I hope the new owner enjoys it.

Geez Mike that took a LONG time at 20k asking. I know the motors had high hrs, but the boat was pretty clean from what I recall.

Glad to hear you got it done though!

Michael, congrats on closing the deal. I know it was taking quite a while with the buyer. Best of luck with everything.

So what kind of boat is in the future?

Hey Jay! How's life in cow land? Hope the wife and baby are well. The boat was essentially "sold" since May, just took a while to close the deal. It wasn't listed for sale anywhere other than this post. And I got to use it when I wanted all this time. :D

Not sure where I'm going to be geographically so for now I'll be boat b!tch. A center console works a lot better down here in FL. On a lake or river, a Donzi 22 classic would probably fit the bill. I was looking at Formula bow riders at the Miami Boat Show too. But Formula needs to get the weight down; the 240BR lists at 5000lbs. It NEEDS the 496MAG HO just to get out of its own way once you put people and gas in it.

Hey Mike - things are good with everyone - just trying to buy a house for now so no boat for the moment. Hopefully again in the not too distant future. Sounds like you might be moving so best of luck with that!

FYI - I have a friend with a 260BR with a 454 mpi / 310hp in it - does about 50 if I recall correctly. Not a screamer but did alright. Of course a 525 would be much better :)
