Default 1 foot long crack under the motors

I took my boat over to the marina yesterday to get it off the trailer and have some chinks in the fiberglass repaired (created before I owned the boat).I got a call saying there was a crack in the fiberglas about a foot long under the motors. OUCH!!! Fiberglas guy says he has seen similar that resulted from water turning to ice but never that close to the drains.

Anyone with experience in this area? Any ideas of what I am looking at would be appreciated.

I already told my wife. She sounded sympathetic but I could see the gleam in her eye as she envisioned diamonds

What model, year Formula? I looked at one a few years ago in New York that had similar damage.

I will take some this weekend. In the meantime it's a hairline crack in the gelcoat parallel with the centerline. Can't tell for sure but I suspect its under a stringer.

Jayhawker: I didn't think Formulas did either
