I will be replacing the bushings at the pivot pins. From what I can tell, I don't even have the bushings. I'm hoping this takes care of the clunk I hear when shifting into reverse.
I'd really be interested in a new/slightly used set of....E4's.
When replacing the bellows, do I need to use any sealant in addition to the hose clamps?
I'd like to launch in a couple of weeks....I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again
Selpel - Wow! Rare boat and a nice package. The 353/500DPX package that I rode on at the Miami show in 2000 is what sold me on my 382/600 package. It's a shame more people don't appreciate the advantages - they'd rather have 2 mph top speed over handling and reliability..... Post some pictures, please.

Retail on the boat is 124K but dont let that stop an offer this boat needs a new owner instead of sitting on our lot. Boat has 305 hrs. but as usual with Formula guys does not show it.

I ordered bellows kit p/n 876631, and my parts arrived today.
Then...I found on Volvo Penta's site p/n 876294 listed as the bellows kit p/n for the dpx-a drive.
The 876631 p/n is listed as the p/n for the dpx.
Anyone know if these p/n's are interchangeable?
I called Volvo and they could not answer my question, recommending I contact a service center.
Thanks,
Jeff

Oops. Looks like you need to re-order, grasshopper.... All my records show that as the part number I've been using.
The other part number may be for earlier drives that used smaller u joints, or they may have changed it when they designed the DPX-A, which has the upper gearcase and center section as one single casting (more strength).

I'm an idiot....
In my excitement to order my parts, I interchanged the p/n for the exhaust bellows (which I don't have on my boat...thru hull only, otherwise, I'd replace it, too) and the u-joint bellows (now ordered). Oh well...no biggie.
BTW....thanks again for all your help. I've found the various exploded views on VP's site and others extremely helpful.
Anyone have any good Volvo Penta prop dealer they can recommend? I will probably be replacing my E4's soon.
