I've got a friend looking for a windshield for a 1990 311. All he really needs is both of the front curved glass sections.

Anybody have some laying around.......

My first thought is good luck. However, there are a few guys on here who have replaced the windshields with fairings so maybe there are a few available. Do a little search on fairings, find out who those guys are and drop them a line.

I do know that if you tried to get the glass new, it would be scary expensive - if not impossible to obtain.

I may know of one, pretty sure the curved sections are the same anyone know for sure? this is off a 242, not sure if he still has it or not

Probably someone who had the foresight to buy out all remaining stock when a company stops actively producing a certain product at a very discounted price and then sells it at market price later. Not worried about legit or not, just seemed odd. But, you're probably right, just bought up what was available.
