382 Fastech Engine/ Drive Packages

What is the expected speed with the following motors and drives associated with them packaged in a 382 Fastech?

500
525
575SCi
600SCi

Thanks.

I would think a lot would depend on the equipment on board. I have everything less a generater w/ 500EFI's and I only see 72.
My buddy has 525EFI's and he touches 80/82
600's I think will get you high 80's

2005 382 with gen and air, never seen anything over 76.....However, my wife packs the kitchen sink on our trips.:party-smiley-004:

2002, no boxes, XR drives, everything but genset.

Had 500EFI's and 8 PSI Prochargers......supposedly 830 hp. ran 95 GPS with me in flat water, reportedly hit 98 when new.

Now pushing 630 hp out of 540's and runs low 80's in flat water, heavy fuel, etc.

duke what motors do you have?

Thanks for the replies guys. I would love 700's but they are too new and therefore out of reach. I'm basically doing a little background research on the 382 with the engines I mentioned in the first post so I have baseline expected speed information. It seems most of the 382's have at least 500's. I have been in a 353 and while I like the boat I think the extra room in the 382 is worth the cost of a few mph.

Thanks again for the information.

525's and I also have the extension boxes. I'm happy to give up the speed for the creature comforts of the 382.

Same here, only wish I had the genset. Definetly on the next one.

Next question.

What is the length of the 382 on a trailer? I'm guessing 45 feet and height less than 10 feet.

Thanks guys.

very close.....my aluminum trailer was over 45 but I was able to cut some of the tongue out of it to get it below 44....a steel trailer could be a little shorter still. The windshield is probably about 9 feet but not over 10.

My boat is the same size on the trailer. :)

500 EFI's come with a warranty. I understand the others don't. My 500's are still purring with 550 hours, but I almost never run above 3500 RPM

Mackattack 07-01-2008 08:18 PM

My trailer has drive guard, and is 46' long from tongue to guard, just fits in a 50' building with 4' work bench.

2001 500 efi, xz drives, getting 51 mph @ 3500, 68 mph @4700, need to get props labbed to get to 52-5400 rpm

Love the gen, cabin is at 70 degrees if I can keep it under 40 mph

Mack what size prop are you spinning, my guess is 30's?

I would guess 30's too.....and they are too big!!!! ...but I seem to remember him saying he was spinning 28's.

With my built motors I spin 30's.....3,500 at about 51 GPS, and max of 5,500 rpms in the low 80's.
