On Smith Lake,Alabama cruisin around with no thought of ever selling.Company he worked for went out of business with no warning,brand new lake house with heavy payment,have to do drastic things sometimes.

Those are genuine Mercruiser closed cooling kits.Formula did not offer them as a factory option,so he had the selling dealer install them before the boat ever hit the water.

Educate me, please. What is the advantage of closed cooling if the boat is in fresh water?

No silt, sand or any other contaminant going through system, it runs antifreeze which has corrosion inhibitors in it.
Basically keeps things less corrosive longer.

Exactly ...may be just my Florida mentality but as prosno sez the antifreeze mixture has anticorrosion properties that will really extend the block life ....m

Hey Bob how is the 311 ? You guys been out much this year?
