Unhappy 1986 Seat Repair

Hey Guys...Last year while at Put-in-Bay we had to raft up..Well some jerks decided to step on my seat to cross over our boat. Well they broke the side of our passengers seat. After I took the seat apart I noticed it had quite a bit of rot which probally helped. After taking the upholstrey off I found that the side is made up of hard foam with a piece of 1/2 inch of wood glued to the foam on each side. The inside piece of wood is rotted and broke. Im not quite sure how I can repair this wood since it is glued to the foam. To remove the wood some of the foam will come off too. Has anyone had this repair done or no of someone who can do this? The rotted section is where the side of the seat attaches to the base of the seat....

randy, which seat, mine are all fiberglass tubs. No wood. The back seat has wood as well as the sunpad. Very expensive to replace.

MFB...The bottom and back are a fiberglass "tub" with the sides being foam/wood...

F3-Ls I just took my seats (1985 F3-LS) apart over the weekend
I will look tonight at the foam, but I would think a saws-all and a long blade.

Good luck.
Tom

Also I will take some pic's of my boat, and want to see some of your boat.
