Thanks guys. it is a fun ride.
Ram- The props tha tare on it rite now are 17X30 3 blades i borrowed from Josh. I can still spin them 5200. I did gain a couple MPH. I still have WAY to much slip. It will be a process. but i will get it right!! |
It would be great to compare the two boats
Jeremy has different mounting plates on the transom I think, possibly resulting in a different x dimension? the gear ratios could be different between the two boats ?, and it would be good to compare the trim settings ( drive angle vs. indicator position) EDIT - and a pic of the two boats with their rooster tail would be Formula Inc. archive worthy !! I wanna come too :D Ramb |

The only thing that could solve that is a BIG diameter wheel Right?........ Josh- i will give you ring today i will be going up there for a wedding in Oct. |
october...Torch lake will be frozen over by then :evilb:
rotating the crank 10 times and counting the prop rotation could confirm the overall ratio. should be 1.5 with tranny and drive combo right? and +/- up to 20% from that if gears are changed? Ramb |

Looks good! Glad to hear she's up and running. Hopefully it won't take too long to get it dialed in. Makes me wonder what my 311 would have done if I had done some serious prop exploring...

I have been thinking about this and can't quite figure it out. My 311 Kaama ran 65 with 375hp/torque? spinning 16.5X26 4 blades at 5000. The 30's I had would not even work on my boat. Doesn't sound like you have found the right prop yet. You need to find a set of 16.5X26 4 blades and I bet your boat would wake up. Bring it up to Torch Lake. My old 311 is still here and I could snag the props off of it to try on your rig. Glad to see you up and running.
