Upgrades (Mostly little stuff):

Fit dual switches to throttle so I can control both drives AND both tabs with one hand.
Fit 12-volt power outlets in the cabin for cell phone/radio chargers, etc.
(The BIG one) Select and purchase a 10" sunlight-readable GPS/WAAS chartplotter.
Relocate trim and tab pumps from engine bulkhead to stbd side to balance the boat.
Fit inverter to run TV and microwave without having to run the generator.
USE THE D%&* THING A LOT MORE THAN I DID LAST YEAR!!
That oughtta do it...

Rebuilt motor (stock 350/260hp).
Clean and repaint engine bay / Rewire that mess
New seat covers

All this and it will be running with a for-sale sign all year.

Getting the rest of the new stereo gear in and adding a battery charger. I'm also going to remove the windshield and re-seal it. I've got a lot of leaks under it now and we'd like to replace the black rubrail with a white one. Hopefully we won't have any engine work to do this summer...

Add trim tab indicators. Don't know why it the 271 comes without them.

Any suggestions on what type to install? I'd like to use the existing trim gauge which has an empty slot on each side. Are these slots for trim gauge indicators?

Boatinbill,
I see your also have a 99 271. Do you have trim tab indicators?
What do you think of the trim gauge? Can tab indicators be added? Let me know how that sternjack works out.

M2 Not having ever seen the dash layout on your boat, is the one trim guage you have for the drive? And is it a mechanical guage? Are your trim tabs Bennets or K-planes?

so far this winter:

completed pole barn to house Formula out of the rain
pumped up boat tires
charged batteries

it's almost Spring, I better get busy!!
next steps:

1) lab finish props
2) find random intermittent short in starboard ignition. ( im hot wiring right now to coil)
3) drill holes in silent thunder
4) fix/replace drive trim indicators ( without spending $600 at eddie marine for new mechanical indicator setup) any suggestions?
