You will not regret it if ya do!!! if you do end up getting one, let me know and I will put you in touch with my supplier for the pads. They are out of the Chi-town area. You would pay what I do, free shipping (one day for you). He can get ya good deals on 303 as well. I get 303 for about 50 bucks a gallon vs. retail of about 65 a gallon...

Is the Porter Cable a good brand? Thats what I've seen the most of. And what size pads do you use on it?

I think so...I have had my Porter Cable for about 5 years and still runs like a champ!! I bout a 6 inch backing pad and 6 inch pads, but that requires a balancer change. I think that was 5 bucks and take a few minutes to do.

www.properautocare.com is where I bought my backing pad and counter weight. if youhave any question from them, let me know. I have also bought pads from them wihich I do like, just my supplier is a little less expensive for the pads...

FRMULTR 02-06-2009 06:51 AM

The ones I've seen, come with the extra balancer. All of them seem to be close to the same price range, on an internet website, where I get some of my company power tools.

Sure, we can swap some work!!!!

macjazzy 02-08-2009 08:19 AM

Shameless, what do you think of those Cyclonic dual pad polishers? I know they are expensive but I have a chance to get one used for a pretty good price. Seems like a good idea but also seems like it may be hard to control.

Honestly, I have never used one, so I really can't say. Sorry...

Shameless, do you use anything first to get out all the little Micro. scratches before you apply the Wizard Supreme Seal coat. My boat looks pretty good but I'm always looking for more shine:D Thanks Propwash

Micro Scratches in paint or gel?? Either way, yes.
Also depends on if you are useing a high speed rotary buffer or an orbital. Also depends on if what pads you are using. But Wizards makes varying degrees of compounds for different sevarities of jobs and wether it is paint or gel. Get me a litle more info on what you have and I can help more.

Shameless, your boat and truck look great. I typically do not use rotary buffers I do most everything by hand because the buffers I do have I don't like. ( Maybe it's time for new one). I'm looking at more of a wet look for my white gel which is most of my boat color. I mostly use 3M products for the scratches with a polish sealant made by Bio-Kleen as a top coat. My boat looks good but I'm always looking for maybe a better combination, you Know what I mean? Thanks Propwash:drink:http://[email protected]

By micro scratches, do you mean swirl marks or can you feel the scratches? Either way, you can't remove these by hand, no matter what you use. If you do not like a rotary buffer, then I HiGHLY recommend an orbital buffer like I gave a link to above. Takes a little more time to remove swirls/scratches, but it is much safer (not adding more swirls) and much easier on your shoulders and really cuts polishing tme down. The Wixards Polish and Supreme seal is a protective polish, meaning it has some of thebest UV inhibitors and you can add multiple coats without getting wax buildup. The more coats you add, the deeper/wetter the shine. If you only want to do one coat, the shine is still amazing.

Sorry to ask so much for your questions, but it is the best way I can steer you in the right direction.

Shameless, I'm talking about swirl type sratches. I will give Supreme Seal a try, maybe a long with some of there other products. A new buffer might happen too.:D Is the Wizard web sight the best place to buy these products from? Thanks for the help. Todd

FRMULTR 02-12-2009 06:54 AM

The Wizard has arrived, now I need the weather gods to cooperate so I can try it. :p

I would say the best place to buy it is right from the MFG. They can do a great job of answering questions too on the phone. Swirls in Gel are tough to remove by hand. I would say, start off with the Supreme seal, put a couple coats on and see where you are, but a machine will really help do the trick with the help of some Finish Cut. www.wizardsproducts.com

Cool, big snow storm headed this way though....

CAUTION, leaves a VERY slick finish!!!!

FRMULTR 02-13-2009 06:56 AM

I'm sick of phuckin snow and cold, I heard this morning the snow may go south of us. As long as I don't wash my truck it won't snow. Wash it and watch out!

The storm is petering out, now we are only supposed to get an inch! Two days ago, they were say 10-12 inches!!

A Wizards tip... When apply, wether by hand or machine, apply very thin. As you rub it in, you should see it almost disapear. if youuse more, you are only wasting it. The 12 ounce bottle of Supreme Seal will do a 292 approximately 10-12 times if done correctly with a machine.

Washed the truck, Friday after work, started snowing 3 hours later. Had about 3 inches by Saturday morning. So much for it going south!

Thanks for the tip. :D

Maybe I missed it, but The Wizards products seem to be aimed at cars and bikes, not gelcoat. I've been pretty happy so far with the Gel Coat Labs products so far. I concur with the PC 7424, great orbital.

FRMULTR 02-16-2009 06:50 AM

I gotta believe that Shameless has tried alot of different products, sense he details for a living. I'm sure there are a ton of different waxes, polishes, and sealers on the market, that people like for different reasons. Plus the majority my Formula is " painted" with imron, and cleared over.;)

Wizards is 100% safe for gel coat!!! They just do not push the boat marketing!!!

You are correct, I have tried just about everything that I can get my hands on...:grinser010:
