Shine

My deck always shined but never quite good enough. It always had a slight haze to it. So before I get it shrinkwrapped this year I took it to a boat detailer. In my opinion it was money well spent:). Not bad fo a 20 year old boat , huh?

mopower 11-21-2008 02:09 PM

Now the deck matches the sides:cool:

masi242 11-21-2008 06:03 PM

Mo I know how you feel the sides come out so nice, but the top by mid summer has the haze look.

Looks great, did the engines stay in for the winter:drink:

sleek1 11-21-2008 06:43 PM

looks good, do you know what kind of polish he used?

mopower 11-21-2008 09:46 PM

Aqua Buff

Shameless 11-22-2008 02:11 PM

looks great, but I sure hope the followed the aqua buff with something!! Your haze will be back quickly if they did not protect that shine... I am sure you know what I recommend and use for my detailing business...:ernaehrung004::ernaehrung004::cool:

masi242 11-22-2008 04:22 PM

Wizards... More specifically for your application Mopower, Wizards Supreme Seal.

Their website is www.wizardsproducts.com

No, I use Wizards for about 99% of my customers and my stuff. I do use Donnies stuff in small tight areas such as trailer cross members and some tight areas on semis I do.

Wizards with their own pad works good on a buffer. It's very messy though, gets compound everywhere! Hard to tell in the pics but i need to seal it

Sure, and sorry if this is a dumb question, what kind of pointers do ya need???

How is the current condition of the gel/paint??

Does it need any compounding, or just polishing?

Do you want a good machine (safe) to use or do you just want to do it by hand ( I hate that)

I will help anyway I can for ya! You can also go to www.wizardsproducts.com They have great info there and you can order from them.

if your boat is already in good shape, the I HIGHLY recommend the Supreme Seal.

Why don't you try this...read their info and familiarize your self a bit, then ask away!!! If need be, I can/will shoot ya my number and we can talk too!!

Bill

I use a orbital polisher I have never sealed it and I was wondering when to apply a sealer? I am hoping this helps to keep the shine through summer?

Thanks for the help!

Good, you have an orbital...what kind of pads do you have?

This is where I lecture people the most...DO NOT listen to those once a year gimmics for polishes...even if your boat is stored indoors, I suggest at least once in the Sprin, mid-summer, and at the end of the season, but that is a minimum that I suggest. Since you have an orbital, you know, it is not that big of a job, and it actually takes longer to properly wash/dry the boat then to polish it.

With Wizards, since they are a protective polish and NO wax is contained(good thing) you can put on mulitple coats for an even deeper gloss.

I will post a few pics tonight for you to show you what can be achieved.

FRMULTR 02-03-2009 06:55 AM

Bill, are the terry cloth pads on an orbital ok, or is there something else to use?

I can only recommend foam for orbitals. For an example to see what type of orbital I use for my business goto...

www.autogeek.net/portercable7424

I am not recommending that site, I have never delt with them, just using it to show you guys an expample of one of my tools and some of the pads...

not bad after driving 420 miles over to my friends house in MI, no it was not washed when I got to his house, oh, this is also after sitting outside for a night too!!

FRMULTR 02-04-2009 07:26 AM

Thats it, I've seen enough. I'll be placing my order shortly. Your truck is as shiny as your boat. I love that when you can see that depth in the paint. :Score-101010:

If you have any questions, let me know. It is great stuff and has a gerat shine!!! Use your polisher to put on and take off!! For your boat/truck/trailer...Supreme Seal is the way to go!!

FRMULTR 02-05-2009 06:50 AM

Gonna have to get one of those fancy orbital buffers, so I can use the foam pads. I've got one of the generic ones with the removable terry cloth pads. Looks like the company needs a new tool ! :p
