I think opposite on TRS, I have them too, the more people change to Bravo the more parts are availible, they last good, just check them out once in a while.
In my opinion, I think a TRS 311 rides better then a Bravo one, mainly in big water, Bravo will be faster no doubt, but TRS are good drives. What I like about the bravo boats is the room in front of the motors ...m |

I dont dissagree on the TRS ....I think I mentioned run em till they break .....your right could be awhile .... Also because Of the trannies the motors are more forward and moves the COG ....would love to ride in one ..:drink:
What I like about the bravo boats is the room in front of the motors ...m The extra room in a bravo boat is niice, but sometimes the extra behind the engines is nice too!! COG is for aure different between the two. |

I am thinking of purchasing 1988 Formula Sr-1 311 for a guy locally, MN.
It has twin 454 with low hours, built to Mercury marine race specs. The outdrives are perfomance TRS. This is all new language to me as I am just getting into the boating scene. I had to change hobbies due to a bad injury which forced my to sell the motorcycles. All though I know a little bit about engines I am not to fluent in the boating terms. Iwas curious as to how much maintenance this boat will require. I know the term high Performance can be used pretty losely and he is trying to sell the boat, but I have had several Ducati bike and they were considered High Maintenance and I did nothing really out of ordinary to them. Maybe someone even knows the boat here. It is listed on ebay right now. If you guys have any things I should look for or stay away from that would be awesome. Thnaks, Miles I purchased a '88 311 from the top end of Lake Saint Clair MI as well through a broker Prestige Yachts the guys name was Paul. He put me in touch with a surveyour who was very reasonable and very thorough as well. He gave me full documentation on the boat we he was done. Like Magic said it is a 20 + year boat and you need to take this step. I fortunately run with 2 other '88 311s all the time (quite funny actually ... we look like 3 guys with 3 Chevells pulling up to the docks). There is no doubt for your money this is the best bang for you dollar with a timeless design. The Formula quality is absolutely the best ...... If I can help send me a email at [email protected] Good Luck !!!!! Jeff |
What is the boat listed for?

This 311 ended another ebay auction today for just under $15000 reserve not met. It seems this guy is having a hard time selling this boat. I figure the reserve should be around 17 if he wants to sell it. If it's such a great deal, why still for sale???
