I'm interested...

I ordered the cup holders today and should see them within a week. There needs to be a few more modifications to the original design to avoid potential problems.

First: Cup holder lid won't close with the new cup holders

Second: Who wants to hear these things rattling around back there? Recessed cushions = No rattles

I need the cup holders first before we can start the pro-type.

These will be sold in pairs (left and right) UNFINISHED and not polished, but with billet aluminum, no nicks or scratches. I am working with another person who will be able to provide those services to you if you want. Looks like if I get 10 orders the price would be $275 BARE and around another $50 for the two cup holders, polish and powder. That is your choice. I am NOT making anything off of these except to help offset the price of the proto-type. Keep the feedback coming, I'll let you know as we get closer!

I'm in. Bare polished aluminum without the actual cupholders. (Already have the polished SS ones.) I'll do my own powder coating.

I would be in as well. Been trying to find someone to do this locally and only way it's feasible is to get multiple people to bring price down. Keep us posted

I'll keep you all posted as things progress. Once we get the (Eddie Marine) Cup holder, we should be ready to proto-type.

A whole lot of work for a couple of steps. Should be worth it in the long run!

Cup holder came in today, and dropped off at the machine shop. I think this one will be better then most. It doesn't have the lip on it like most. Thought about changing the pattern of the step treads. If you look at the picture of 4mulaFastech's polished handle's earlier on in the thread(page 1), I like that pattern better. Thoughts?

I agree with changing the pattern. Here are a couple close-up shots of the Eddie Marine Fat Handle backing plate. This pattern spaced a bit closer would be great. Plus it would be quite a nice match!:drink:

Thanks for the close-up. My handles and backing plates came yesterday as well. I am going to run it by our "step-plate Guy" today and see what he thinks. Anyone else?

I plan to duplicate 4formulafastech's grab handle idea. Step plate/cup holder to match would be cool!!
