my 454 in silent thunder = 91-92 DB at 3 feet at idle, if this can help you...
|
ugh thats a ticket isnt i think 85 is the limit

my 88' 272 is barely audible through the ST with 454 mags. i can't imagine anyone even bothering to test you..

If you've got switchable exhaust...will officials board you and measure the noise level with the diverter 'closed' (no thru-hub)?
I removed my S/T box altogether so I'm loud on-plane, but when I run around the docks thru-hub my twin 6.2's are very quiet. |

RHSJ: Some states it is illegal to have the switchable even if it passes with it open. I never understood that one. They will test you with them open.

Thanks, Audiofn
Luckily I haven't heard of anyone being tested in SF Bay, but then again, only a very small % of the boats here are go-fast. Majority of the boats are wind-powered. I still hit the 'stealh' switch when I see any LEO's in the vicinity, though, b/c without the Silent Thunder box...Let's just say I can't sneak up on anyone :drink: |
