Default Looking at 280 Sun Sport; anything I should know?

I posted a thread on the General Discussion board regarding my search for the right boat, and how I think it is a 280 Sun Sport. We like the room on deck and the mini galley located topside all protected with the camper enclosure; my wife likes the enclosed head and I like the twin 350s. Are there any issues with these boats that should concern me? We're looking at the early models (a 1996 at the moment). We'll be using it on the lakes here in Washington and cruising Puget Sound. Any insight/advice is much appreciated!

There's not a lot of Sun Sport owners hanging here. But, from what I know, you're looking at the right package with the twins. Heard they are real pigs with a single big block. Try this sight for more Sun Sport info.

We have a '99 that we purchased from Magicfloat 3 years ago. With 5 year old and 2.5 year old daughters, it's the perfect boat for us.

We have had ZERO issues and love everything about the boat. We have the extended bimini which is great when the girls go with us. Trailers well, handles great and as you mentioned, tons of room.

I guess the only downside is that when we take our annual river trip (10 to 12 local boats will trailer to a launch and run 100 to 120 miles to a destination) several of the group would rather leave their boats at home and ride with us.

email me if you have any questions or want to discuss.
