was there a year where 357's did not have wood stringers... or did formula make that switch many years later?
has anyone put in blower kits such as the supercharger usa kit with dual 4bbls on the 454.... and did you redo the entire top of the motors ie: heads, cams, etc... and were you happy or do you wish you had skipped the process?
has anyone installed the arneson drives or similar and were you happy with that or was it not really worth the effort and expense?
note: the boat will be used offshore

I had a 1986 357 with the Kaama surface drive option. The Kaama was pre-arneson (I think) and was made to compete with the #3 merc drive. I converted the boat to bravo's and lost 4-5 mph. I did like the boat a bunch with the Kaama's. The boat ran flat, very little bow rise when plaining, good flat level ride at all speeds. Also, you have plenty of engine compartment room for tranny's, etc.
