I think its a great feature. Just wish more GPS units had it built in so it was easier to retrofit on a boat that didn't come with it.

The SC5000 is very easy to use IMO. It even has a 'Favorites' function that lets you set-up a series of screens that it automatically cycles through while running. You can set the time it displays each screen shot. |

I am kind of flipping it around a little bit. Say you have a older boat that does not have Smart Craft. For example a 95 Top Gun or because we are in the Formula area Norts 383 with Whipple chargers on it. I am working on the ability to run his "regular" motors and be able to have the smart craft info come up on his GPS unit. Another example would be my Fomula 311 with 420's I would have to totally replace my dash to get water preasure and oil temp guages in. Instead I will put those two things up on the GPS.
