i think this boats been for sale for a while. I really like the looks of the older formulas. I want to make a good jump from my little fourwinns. The lake up here can go from calm to 3 footers in the blink of an eye. I've rode in a few of these formulas and they definately are built for this lake.

You are right this boat has been for sale for a while I am sure he has plenty of room to move on this boat. It may not be the fastest but sbc twins will give you a lot more confidence when your far from home. My wife and I still talk about the crossing turtle to mallets bay solid 4s it took us a while but we had fun.

i'm probably going to be pushing this off until fall, usually people dont wanna pay storage if they dont have to, but I may also try to find a 242...a friend of mine has one and i really like his boat. Though i dont think fuel consumption will be a whole lot different from twin small blocks to a single big block.

MY 272 sr1 could be bought. Fresh motors and hyd steering. 1989. would cost you more than the one in NH. Mine is in Il. or MO depending on the time of year.

That's what I thought going from my 242 big block single to the 311 twin big blocks. Wrong!!! She chews easily twice as much gas. Even those small blocks will eat a lot more than the single big block. But, that's the price we pay to have bigger boats.

Slinky,

I live in Northern NJ and Im looking to sell as I am upgrading after this year. I have a 1988 242 LS red/black Bravo 1. I have the bolster seats and the engine (454) was just rebuilt last season and I have all the paperwork. Balanced/blue printed/dynoed (428 HP). I did the engine right with all new pieces and can document. It comes with an all aluminum Rocket Trailer with four new tires this season as well. I use the boat in the LI sound and never had a problem getting across in the rough stuff. Boat tops out about 60 on the speedo and cruises about 30 -35 at 3K RPM.

When I get home I will throw some pics up for you. If you are interested shoot me a PM or email.

Here are some threads that have pictures for now.

You can see what the engine started as and what it is not. All repainted and polished aluminum parts. While the motor was out the gimble ring, bearing, seals and senders were all replaced.

The interior also has all new carpet.

Thanks.
