The 419's did not use the molded fiberglass reinforcement grid that the rest of the FaStech line uses; they were built with marine plywood stringers and bulkheads. Looks like a roomy cabin compared to a 382, but the cockpit space is about the same because of the space lost to the center engine. I'd be comfortable with the engines, but it would be an awesome boat with twin 725 Ilmor/Indy drives...

Needs a genny and A/C as mentioned, and those are Eickert manifolds, not CMI's. At least it's a blank canvas paint-wise....

Anything bad about using plywood compared to fiberglass? I guess Fiberglass is preferred, why did they change?

The 419 was never a big-volume boat, so they didn't bother spending the money to tool up for the grid system that they use in all the other FaStech models. Knowing Formula, I'm sure the wood is the proper grade and well-encapsulated.

It would be interesting if they would revive the 419 with the grid system, twin 725Ilmor/Indy drives or 700/NXT's, move the cockpit back, and put a larger cabin in it with another 2" of headroom. I could get interested in a rig like that, and The Admiral would love a stand-up shower!

I agree with above post.. The orig. headroom was 5'7" if I remember correctly.
