Default Cockpit cover

My 2000 260ss will need a new c/p cover soon, is it worth buying from Formula $$ ?? or have it custom made. Also, if bought from Formula, will it fit properly?
Thanks

McLoed doesn't do cockpit covers. Plus, from what I've read, McLoed went tits up recently.

jjj, Just go find a local, reputable canvas guy. The job will be custom fit and price wil be cheaper than what Formula can do.

Ya .... what he said .... plus key word being "custom" there are a lot of cool things you can do besides the plain old cockpit cover.

If I had to do it all over again I would add some zippers at an entry point to the boat so I don't have to take half the cover off just to get in the boat. For those times you don't want to put up the "convertible top"

Just as an example .....

The Formula cover will still require a canvas guy to install the snaps,as the are shipped without snaps installed. The vendor does not know where the snaps were installed in the deck.Take your old cover to a canvas guy and he can copy it,or just take him the boat

Is it difficult to fit the snaps ?

I am considering buying a new cockpit cover from Formula and then fit the snaps myself, but may be it is too difficult ?

The snaps come with it in a bag.You can do it youself if you have access to a professional type vise grip based tool. The el cheapo pliers and the cup and hammer punch tools are junk.
