I drive by the boat quite often. The reason for the water on the floor is the dumb people there uncover the boats every weekend for the customers to see them. If it happens to rain that day and they can not get all the covers on in time, the boats get wet. It must have really rained the day they took those pictures. Like I said, I looked at the boat a couple weeks ago. It has been sitting outside now for almost 3 years. It needs a good waxing. Interior is brand new and did not have any funny smells. No damage on boat..Fresh water 35 hour demo time. The dealer had a public auction a couple months back to reduce their inventory. The 353 never met the reserve. I was not there, So I do not know what the high bid was. They also had this boat lised on Ebay a few times last year starting at 275K This was a good sized dealer just 2 years ago. The economy has crushed them. Jeff Wurl

You may want to check on Merc warranty. I heard Merc was not honoring warranty for boats that are a couple years old that sit at show rooms. not sure if it is true or not. It wouldn't surprise me given my recent dealings with Merc on an issue I just had.

Can someone explain how Formula Guard fits into the whole 3 year old Mercury scenario? I thought Formula's warranty would handle any engine issues??

My understanding is Formula Guard is a declining coverage product as time goes by. As your boat gets closer to 5 years old the less % it covers.

Not sure how it would work on a boat that has never been titled if Merc decided they would not honor the warranty.

Actually,Formula Guard is not a declining warranty. If you blow a drive or engine or even something like a stereo or gauge,or whatever at 4 years 11 months and 29 days,if the item is covered,it pays the same as if it were 1 year and 1 day old. It is a nice feature. As far as my original comments about this boat,I decided a public forum is really not the proper venue . My 2008 with custom trailer and 15 hours is blowout priced at 200K out the door. Is that as good a deal as the 07 at listed price of $165500 + trailer and other fees? Maybe. If someone is a serious prospect for either boat, just call me 205-221-3072,I am available 24/7. We can discuss a few things.Sorry if I am not being more public about this, but all dealers have the perogative to price their boats as they see fit, none of my business. I will close by saying if you are seriously considering a new 353,it might be worth a phone call to me,as well as other Formula dealers on this forum, like Selpel at Glencove,or Mitch at Captain's Choice,to get additional info. It's a lot of money, investigate your options. I am always upfront with everyone,it's worked for me for my 43 years as a dealer.

Thanks for the clarification on Formula Guard. I obviously misunderstood a conversation I had about it.

I agree with magicfloat. His 08 353 is probably a better deal. That is a sweet ride. Jeff Wurl

Well, my plan is to buy a new 353 this winter ---- 07', 08' or 09'. Looks like I will have quite a few boats to choose from.
