Hi, I got my budget build 382 back on the water labor day weekend. The results where 83 at 5000 rpm. Carbs are a little off at least i hope. It runs great right up to 5000 and just kind of hangs there. Not bad for the first time out since the repower. I have some video i will post tonight. Love the boat it handles great and ride even better. Hope to have it in the
90's before the years over.

5600-5800. The props are what came with the boat. They looked to have had some work done on them and i have no idea what. They are 30p bravo's with some dents and dings so there might be some more speed to be found in some different props. The boat was powered with 496's when i first got it and one of them let go after about 5 min of use. Repowered with 500hp's with some mods.

I bought it from Gainsville Marine in Gainsville Ga. I was told that it was one of the old Tal Marine race boats and even given some pics but that was BS. It is from what i have come up with your old boat. It has Pa numbers on it and was a repo when i bought it.

Started life as the Formula Sirius boat, but was never put in the water. It toured the entire U.S. on the trailer at all major promotional events. Formula stripped the rigging and sold it as a bare hull. I bought it brand new and rigged with 496HO power. It was never raced...only pleasure use.

That is it. The guy in PA was hard on it. I am getting it back to the way it should be. When i bought it it only had 61 hrs on the motors so i guess that is all the boat has. Did you put the 30's on it.

You are a lucky man to have a kevlar 38' that has never been raced. Your hull should last for a long time. The boat was spotless when I sold it. I believe that you have the original props. The boat ran 80MPH on GPS with the 496HO power. As you already know, the ride is incredible.
Here is the story. Vic Spellberg, Director of Sponsorship for Formula, took the boat around the country on the trailer for the "Rythum of the Road" tour with Sirius. It started in 2002 with NASCAR, Grand Openings and 10 other events in 2004. One of the highlights was the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The boat had a $60,000 stereo with 40,000 watts,12 amps and subs under the dash. After the tour, everything was removed and the boat was sold. I was the first owner and had it on a lift at Jackson Marine - Shelter Cove Marina on the Chesapeake Bay.
