Default 311 Realistic speeds

Hey guys! Im looking at a 91 311 with 502 carb motors. The boat is in IMACULANT shape with 400 hrs on it. I have a few questions.
1. Is there baffles in the silent thunder exhaust, and can they be removed. If so how much louder will it be.

2. The seller say the boat has been 72mph low on fuel in choppy water. Is this realistic????

3. How prone is this boat to drive problems? It has bravo's and seller says that has had the better cone clutches installed and hasnt had a problem with them.

Any help would be greatly appriciated

Is this boat in TN?
If you doghouse the baffles and leave the flappers, it will have a nice rumble but not annoying. The platform does not affect performance one way or the other until you go crazy with power.
The Bravos will be fine as long as they're maintained and not horribly abused (no full throttle holeshots and come off the throttle if you get big air). My '91 311 Bravos had almost 1200hrs. They shifted and ran perfect.

Yes the boat is in TN. The engines are stock (and thats fine with me) I would rather have reliability than speed

Mine is a 91 311 with factory 465hp 502's . Labbed 24p Bravo 1's 1.36 Bravo's I see 72/74 depending on conditions. What 502's are in this boat? Also what prop and drive ratio?

With 500HP's it would run 72-73 with TRS, so with Bravo maybe a tad faster depending onconditions, my buddy had one that went 80 one time with TRS and approx 600HP. boat was a blast!

his claim of 72 is right on in my opinion..

Good luck! have a survey done and really check out the gas tank bulkhead and center stringer...
