Ok, so here's a good one. Did you ever ponder a thought several times and think: "This is a BAD Idea?"
But then after it's done, you say "Damn...That looks good!" That's how this kinda went..... Not a big fan of any modification that can't be put back to stock without a whole lot of messing around, so when my "Stereo Guy" tells me we got to cut a hole in the boat to install a properly sized sub woofer box....Well, holes and boats don't mix. So we compromised and here are the results. 1 - Remove the passenger bolster seat. 2 - Install an aluminum tool path template with 2 sided tape to the port gunwhale and cut a 17" x 15" hole. 3 - Take the piece of fiberglass to your local waterjet. 4 - Have your "Stereo Guy (Chris)" build a custom 2 piece 1.7 cubic ft ported woofer box. 5 - Assemble and install this box in the gunwhale...Real fun! |

So you can kind of get the picture of what I had in mind, right? Re-use the fiberglass piece as a grill. So my "Water Jet Guy" cuts out the Bird...We install a strip of aluminum on each side of the hole after the box and sub are in (we used Nortons speed grip) and tap 6 holes for the mounting screws and done! A grill with Birdattude!

You sure are paying close attention to the details! That boat will be fantastic when you are done. You must be pumped.
