2002 292 fastech 377s

what should i expect top end to be on the 2002 292 fastech with 377s in it ????? any other thoughts on this boat?

I assume you are talking scorpions? I have heard upper 70's to around 80+/- depending how strong the motors are. Remember the scorpions need a minimum of 93 octane

wow 93 makes me think twice about wanting 377s anyone with 377s want to chime in, what you guys burning in them ?????

The regular 6.2 320 horsepower engines are 377 ci. That's the more common set up in the 292 Fastechs and runs on low octane fuel, 93 is not required for them. My '06 292 with regular twin 320 horse 6.2 Bravo's went 70 on a good day and 68 anytime. The Scorpion engines where basically the Merc HP blue version of the 377's. Don't know a whole lot about them but someone else who does may be able to elaborate.

Thx Pat I went to the mercury sight they stated use 91 octane with the 377 Scorpions . I have a deposit on the292 with Scorpions in the classifieds here, I can deal with 91 ,93 is tough to find around here at the docks thx again for your input

Cool! Good luck with the boat. It looks nice and a pretty good deal too. I really liked my 292, I bet they run great with the Scorpion engines.

My bad guys....meant that they require 91 octane. 91 is tough to get on the water by us...mostly have 89 and 93.

I'm in Buffalo, and went to Alabama for mine, yes a long ride but it was worth it and hopefully you will have a proud trouble free ride on the way home, bring along some tools and a grease gun, and if it doesnt have a spare borrow one for the trip, and on your way there keep an eye out for the cheapest gas:grinser010:which should be in Missouri from what I remember there usually the cheapest, but havent been out there in 10 yrs or so

Mentalpause 03-09-2010 06:00 PM

Missouri is still some of the cheapest gas around the midwest. Was down at LOTO two weeks ago. 2.39 for 87 octane and 2.59 for diesel.

I don't, but there have been other threads on that question posted out here. Check on the Midwest forum, or post the question there.
