Default 310ss or 310 BW

I am new to the bigger boat world. I have had a ton and still have plenty of 20-25ft inboards. Now I am looking at a 310ss or 310 BR. I was wondering what kind of speeds there boats are getting with the 496s.

I have not seen to many people with that style of boat on this site, but I would guess 60 would be tops.

My guess would be near 60 with HOs. A little less with 375 HP.

From: Denmark and hopefully some place nice

My cousin has a 310 BR with 496 375 hp mag's. It runs 55-56 all day. Could maybe be 1 mph faster, but it comes on plane in 5 sec's or less, and run nice. He's boat does not have gray water holding tank, radar arc, and Axius steering. I don't know how that will affect top end and so on. The boat is not available from factory with 496HO's. I guess that you could make arrangements with a dealer, and swap the engines and drives. The new 8.2HO's look nice. My guess would be 60-61 with that setup. It is one of the nicest boats of this kind I have ever been on.

One thing to mention is, that slip is a bit high, but prop's are without cup.
He has a problem with cavitation burns, so I think he will try the XR's this year. They will hopefully bring down the slip, from about 14% down to 9-11% as well as help the burn problem.

Hope this helps.

Happy boating
