Default kamma drive ??s

any of you guys have any dealing w/kamma drives.i am looking at a 1985 357 w/a kamma set-up.what are the ins and out of these drives,the pluses and the minus,s.are parts very$and do they still make them.thanks,any help would be nice.

Do a search here in Formula and in the drive section, you will get all kinds of info. The only wear item that is currently unavailable is the rubber boot and there are options for that when someone finally gets ambitious (or hard up) enough. The housing itself would be a problem, but that isn't something you'd normally need to replace.

Also, given the current market and the fact that these drives and transmissions ( I paid a considerable sum to have mine rebuilt by a Twin Disc dealer) are only going to get harder to service as time goes by I would pay less for a Kaama drive boat than one in the same condition with a conventional drive. That is of course just my opinion and I'm sure others might disagree. I own a 357 Kaama boat and have at various times considered selling it without the engines and or drives. It is not officially for sale- but if a good offer came...
