Default valve job

I have seen that several of you guys has had a valve job as well as springs and retainers. I am looking to get my heads redone but am getting pricing all over the map. I am tearing everything down myself just need to take the heads in and have install everything. Not looking for chapest guy just want it done right. Any recomendations, or what you guys think it should cost. Thanks Mark

Are you doing all three motors? If so, I think a machine shop should give you a 6-Head discount! If you are replacing springs, retainers, and locks ONLY then the prce will be different. Get a price based on everything that MIGHT need to be done:

Valve job (Valves and seats)
Setting spring heights
Re-surface, true up the surface, plane the heads
Check ALL seats and replace as needed (pay attention to the hardened exhaust seats)
Valve guides. Repalce as needed

Parts at least to be replaced:
Springs
Retainers
Locks
Seals

Get some quotes and let us know!

Do a leak down before you go that far, especially if you are not sure. It does not lie, if the valves are still sealing good just go for the springs.

am doing all three. I am doing valves and springs and all hardware that goes with it. For hardware and work on heads approx 4300.00. I am doing all the tear down and reassemble myself. Motors have 600 hrs on them. Anything that I should look for.
