Hi Guys, I just purchased a 2008 353 and the sound system won't work properly.
The sound only come rich from the port cockpit speakers.
I tried the balance/fader and it's not that. When I switch my red and black wire behind the amplifier, the rich sound comes from the starboard side.
I know it is not the speakers..................
Any help would be appreciated.................

sounds like you have a broken amplifier channel or the channel from the deck itself is broken which is what i would bet you have verified that all your wiring is good and your speakers are good . boat stereos take alot of abuse even though yours is new . fyi go get a new deck and try a 300.00$ or above alpine they make the best stuff if you ask me . very simple to hook up also for your setup .

Guys, for your info, I have also a Pirate Intercom system and that also won't work.
The Pirate intercom is also linked to the VHF and that's the only sound that I get from my headsets. It works fine with the VHF but that stereo system is all screw up.

I agree with the others. Ditch the kenwood, their stuff has been low quality for 15 years or better. I have both an Alpine and a Sony in my boats. Personally I like the Sony better. The I pod interface is much easier to navigate than the Alpine. Plus you can get the 60 series sony w/I pod adaptor and the LCD remote commander on ebay for around $200.00. The similar Alpine setup will run you at least double and IMO its no better.

Sound to me like you simply have a speaker out of phase. One speaker is moving "in and out" while at the same time the other is moving "out and in". Get to one of the speakers and switch the wires on it, you should notice a big difference.

If the speakers are out of phase it will still make sound. Phasing of the speakers is more audible with low sub frequencies. I honestly doubt you would here any difference in the mid to high levels unless you are a professional audiophile. You have a bad channel either in your amp or stereo.

Sometimes you don't have to take them out.....they do that themselves.
