Expensive Date, got a few questions. Are you still using the Corsa muffler tips? How is the sound level at idle and on plane with the exhaust only running through the transom? Did you notice any effect on time to plane? Any top speed improvement?
Thanks,:drink: Dave It is louder not a lot but noticable the engine starboard is a little louder than the port.Might take them out have not decided yet. As for performance I had it out last weekend and was getting an engine alarm on the port motor so it did not get run hard.I should have it back this week.It should plane quicker as its probably 300 lbs lighter in the rear maybe more will let you know.If you do it CP performance makes really nice blockoffs for the prop exhaust. Will post some pictures when I get it back. |
Thanks for the info. Sorry to hear about the alarm. Hopefully nothing serious. Looking forward to the results and pics.

The IAC valve is a little stepper motor control valve mounted on top of the intake with two socket head cap screws right behind the throttle body. When you pull the throttles to idle the throttle body is completely closed and this valve controls the air going into the engine. If you notice the boat runs fine except at idle, this could be it. MerCruiser must have got a bad batch of IAC valves (I believe they are actually a Ford product...) Got lucky and a MerCruiser dealer close to where I keep my boat had one in stock. $110 and 3 minutes of work later, she is running perfect again. :) Good luck with yours!! |

Thanks,:drink: Dave Time to plane is wayyyyyy better its has so much more power below 4gs and being 400 lbs lighter it comes right up out of the water. Top speed is about the same but I had my props done last year by a local guy and the came back a little smaller so I think I am going to get new props and see what happens |
