I have a 97 with trip 525 sc's. Boat ran 80-83 mph in Florida heat (80 summer, 83 winter). this boat crushes 5-6 footers with no issues. My buddy (38 Nortec owner) couldn't believe the difference from his 38. I think that boat is probably under powered and the drives are way too deep. Later year 419's went with stelling boxes and 525's. Obviously, the boat can take whatever power you want to put into it. I'm currently re-building mine as the cmi's puked 2 of the 3 engines. Best bolster seats in the game. Went to the 38 EC because with a family of 4, the 419 just didn't have the cabin room as we stay on the boat for 4-5 days at a time when we boat. trips burn gas, but so does my 38 ec, just a little less, that's all. I don't think you would be disappointed in the build quality, ride and comfort of the boat, just need a little more power to make a formula sing.

I still Say a 419 with Staggered big power ..... but who's got the Kahona's and $$$$$$$$$$$$$ ......
you'd be much better off with my 311 .... :) http://forums.boatfreaks.org/showthr...578#post229578 |
Back in 2000 a local guy tried to get Formula to build a staggered 419.....when they wouldn't, he asked them to build one with a closed transom (no engines/drives/etc) so he could build it himself......they wouldn't. (bet they would now)
