I figure any respectable motor should have a minimum of 1hp per cubic inch. I'd like to get it anywhere from 450 to 500hp. If the alpha one can't handle that i'd upgrade. I'm not afraid of used parts.

Nice Article, I've been wanting to read that for a while. Here is a picture of the old SS and new new LS. The LS looks a lot better now than these pictures from this spring. I'm picking up the short block tomorrow. Hopefully its in the boat and running by the end of next week.

Exaiting with a new boat and a new engine, keep us informed by pics and reports

Do you have a thread about this project somewhere?

Your old 242 SS has the same colors as mine :-)
